This is the planet called Mars. Do you know why do we call this planet Mars? Because first of all, Mars, which comes from Latin, was the god of war. Maybe the red color reminds them of war.Mars is (20660 thousand) km far from the sun. Mars is 3396 km big. There are two moons called Pobos, and Deimos. Some scientist thinks that we still can live on Mars, because the length of one day is similar to Earth. One Mars is made with Iron and oxid. The atmosphere is very thin, and the gravity is low. The air is made up of 95% nitrogen , 3% argon, 1.6% steam. Because it is red, it is warm and the temperature is 43˚ high. Lastly Mars has the largest volcano we know about Olympus Mons. There are also many other volcanoes and has impact craters just like the moon's. Mars has storms (dust storms) that can envelop the whole planet. There are several interesting facts about mars. First please take a look at this picture at bottom.

This face on mars was big news 22 years ago. The Spacecraft located at 41°N latitude reached Mars in July of 1976. It had two missions. One was to send a lender down to the surface of Mars. The other was to make a way to the red planet, within 1,000 miles of the surface, and take a thousand pictures to help finding a best spot to land. Then they found this picture. This was located at 41°N latitude But this is not an alien (of course...). This was a hill with a shadow and it looks like a face. This is a picture that another spacecraft took from same spot.

It looks pretty different from picture before. There are many reasons that it doesn't look like a perfect face. This is because of camera graphics, quality, angles, and shadows... many reasons.

Now, these pictures are very mystical. The on the left is a part of a  city called Avebury, and the one on the right picture of Mars’ surface. They look exactly alike! Also the angle from Silbury hill, to tetraheldral pyramid, the angle there should be 19.47degrees. And on the right picture, the angles are also 19.47degrees, and it is exactly the same.  These strange things are still mysteries.
